ObeyTheAlgorithm is an independent songwriter and vocalist from Canada's East Coast.
Long before there was an artist project, streaming catalogue or release campaign, there were long work shifts and lyrics written on days off. What started for fun became an outlet. The stories kept arriving—about relationships, resilience, identity and the things people carry quietly—and the writing grew into a serious passion for making music that feels lived in.
The catalogue evolved.
The earliest releases were geared toward Latin dance music: rhythm-first songs built for movement, energy and bilingual or Spanish hooks. The early English releases took a different path, using pop and electronic music to explore the struggle between human identity and artificial intelligence—control, influence, resistance and the question of what remains unmistakably human. More recent country and pop songs bring that focus into real relationships and lived experiences, with the production serving the story instead of becoming the story.
The writing leads.
The project refuses to stay inside one genre. Country and Americana provide a home for grounded storytelling, while pop, Latin and electronic influences allow each song to take the shape its story demands. That freedom has become part of the identity: the writing leads and the genre follows.

The catalogue is built from original lyrics and direct creative decision-making, with a mix of human vocal recordings and AI-assisted production methods disclosed release by release. Technology supports the process; it does not replace the reason a song exists.
The name ObeyTheAlgorithm is partly a challenge to the systems that increasingly decide what people see and hear. Instead of chasing one formula, the project focuses on honest stories, memorable hooks and the long work of becoming a stronger songwriter and recording artist with every release.
